The DU Fresher's Accommodation Checklist (Print This)
If you're moving to Delhi for DU for the first time, print this. It's the exact list we go through with every student on WhatsApp.
Before you visit any PG
Confirm your college and its exact address.
Decide max monthly rent (with meals).
Decide sharing preference (single / double / triple).
Girls: decide max entry time you're comfortable with.
Carry a printed list of 3–5 shortlisted PGs.
At the PG visit
Ask to see the exact room being offered — not a 'sample'.
Check water pressure and switch on the fan/AC yourself.
Look at the mess kitchen if possible.
Meet the warden.
Check mobile network on that floor.
Before paying
Get a written rent agreement with your name and dates.
Get a stamped receipt for token + first-month rent.
Note down what's included: meals, Wi-Fi, laundry, cleaning frequency.
Take photos of the room condition on move-in day.
First week in the PG
Save the warden and owner's numbers.
Note the nearest chemist, hospital, and 24×7 store.
Register on Delhi Metro app + Uber/Ola.
