North Campus vs South Campus DU: Which Should You Live Near?

Your campus decides your city. Here's what living near North vs South Campus actually feels like day-to-day.

Where each campus is

North Campus: around Vishwavidyalaya metro — Hindu, Hansraj, Miranda, SRCC, KMC, Stephen's, Ramjas.

South Campus: around Dhaula Kuan / Satya Niketan — LSR, Gargi, JMC, Deshbandhu, Kirori Mal (some).

Rent

North Campus PGs: ₹8,500 – ₹22,000/month.

South Campus PGs: ₹11,000 – ₹28,000/month.

South is ~20–30% pricier because there are fewer dedicated student PGs.

Lifestyle

North: buzzy, student-first, lots of cheap food and cafes, PGs on every lane.

South: greener, quieter, more residential, better connectivity to the rest of Delhi.

Commute

North colleges are almost always within a 15-minute walk from a good PG cluster.

South colleges usually mean a 10–20 minute metro + auto combo unless you find a rare inner-lane PG.

So which one is better?

There's no 'better' — pick the campus your college is on. Trying to live near the wrong campus means you'll lose 1–2 hours a day to commute.
